Getting A Tune-Up

Another pearl of wisdom washed ashore from a personal hurricane that started on June 12, 2009 was something I had to learn the hard way.

I was depressed for several months. I faced my depression, challenges and fears and decided I would not be held captive. When I fully made this decision, my depression was gone.

I feel so good when I get out and exercise. I feel good when I create a new passion. I wish everyone felt as good as me. I don’t live with depression. Depression lives with me. I don’t give depression that much power. Depression pass a few days is a choice. You decide to lift yourself up and do something positive in your life.

Seven out of ten adults do not exercise regularly. I found that working out at the gym at least three days or more a week has increase my ability to implement change in my life.

I have come to realize that without the engine, the body, getting a tune-up, and the driver, the mind, can not get where it wants to go in life very well.

A healthy mind begins with a healthy body and vice versa.

The mind thinks so much more clearly when the body gets a tune-up at least three days a week.

Dealing with life’s challenges has much to do with your body getting a tune up.

Three foods linked with depression: Refined Grains, soft drinks and fast food. “People who eat fast food are 51 percent more likely to develop depression than those who don’t, according to a 2012 study in the journal Public Health Nutrition. This includes commercial baked goods, hamburgers, hot dogs and pizza, the researchers said.” (1)

Most of my depression has subsided. Watching my diet by eating food using dietary guidelines with USDA suggested nutritional value was a major step forward in my recovery from depression. I watch my diet very carefully. I found that fast food and processed foods from the grocery store caused a good part of my depression. I cook over ninety percent of my own foods with mostly organic and natural ingredients. Following the food pyramid with fruits and vegetables taking up half of my diet, and grains and protein making up the other half along with an exercise program has helped me with drepression greatly.

The cells in your body are surrounded by mostly waterโ€ฆ and there is a mountain of evidence which proves that the type of water you drink is the most important element of your health, because it changes how the cells absorbs the nutrients, and how they behave.” – Kacper Postawski, Author
